Q: What is barre?
Barre is a combination of ballet, yoga and pilates fused together to create a low impact workout that focuses on lengthening and toning muscles, while building strength and endurance.
Q: Do classes expire?
Regular priced classes and class packages expire 5 years from purchase. Special classes/class packages will have different expiration dates. These dates will be clearly stated when specials are offered, usually 3 months from purchase. All unlimited month packages begin the day of purchase and end 30 days after.
Q: What can I expect from the 30 minute classes?
30 minute classes focus on a single muscle group: arms, abs, legs, and glutes. In a 30 minute class you will begin with a short stretch focusing on the target muscle group and move into a non-stop 30 minute workout. The workouts will be mainly strength based, but may incorporate some cardio.
Q: What should I bring to class?
We provide mats, but feel free to bring you own! We have water bottles for $1 or the option to fill up your own for $1. Certain classes might specify that you wear socks, but feel free to workout bare foot. Sneakers are not allowed inside the studio space. Some of our classes require the use of ankle weights, which are provided, however if you have your own feel free to bring them too!
Q: What class should I take if I'm new to barre?
All of our classes are accessible to clients of all fitness levels and abilities. Our instructors are trained to provide modifications and clients are encouraged to listen to their bodies during classes and take breaks when needed. We do offer a Barre Basics class the first Saturday of each month from 7:00-7:30 AM. New clients must sign up at least 48 hours in advance and purchase the new client buy one, get one class credit to be eligible to attend.
